Well that was fun

The concert with Sowah, Harbor City, and UMD last night was the most fun ever! We worked very hard to sing the music correctly, and it really showed in the performance. There were some very exciting moments, we sang faster than we have ever sung before. And that’s the truth.

The UMD percussionists did an amazing job playing the Ghanaian xylophones, or gyils. We sang with them on Bawa. The students from Macalester College, along with Sowah and his son Nii did some really exciting drumming with tall drums, and great songs, and a lot of happiness.

I was very proud of the women of Sing! Everything went very smoothly, and the sound was great. I know that the students from Harbor City International School enjoyed it, and it was fun to sing with them. They really tried hard and did a good job. Thanks to Darin Bergsven from Harbor City for helping us get ready to work with Sowah.

We get a well-deserved rest next week, April 10, then back at it on the 17th as we prepare for Homegrown.
